Southside Survivor Response Center, Inc. (SSRC) has been in operation since 1981, providing emergency shelter to women and children experiencing abuse. SSRC now serves all the West Piedmont area which includes: Martinsville, Danville, Henry, Franklin, Pittsylvania, and Patrick Counties.
SSRC currently serves the community in multiple capacities; the Response Center Services, Emergency Services, Rapid Re-housing, and 24/7-Crisis Helpline are provided at our emergency shelter location. The Community-Based Advocacy, Supportive and Outreach Services are provided collaboratively with partners to educate, provide financial assistance, and intervene for victims of abuse, homelessness, and other crises. In 2016, we added full Spanish speaking services as well.
SSRC is committed to working with key stakeholders while building new relationships in the communities. Our goal is to help build a “Resource Pipeline” that will stretch across the state of Virginia. Our motto is we “Grow, Glow, & Go” hard for the betterment of those we serve.
